The bed-ridden globetrotter
Cynthia Sundman, a missionary to Peru, tells of a woman in her 80s who is suffering from cancer and is confined to bed. The woman has a list of missionaries throughout the world that she prays for each day. The woman obviously can’t leave her home, but Cynthia says, “This woman travels the globe every day serving the Lord. Her mission is to pray for all the missionaries on her list.” |
Mission is everywhere
The word “mission” often implies traveling to another country to teach and work. The work done in foreign missions is important, of course, but we can’t all make the trip. What we can do, however, is be faithful servants where we live. Mission is about putting the face and name of Jesus in front of those who don’t know him. We can do that in many ways — any place and any day.
