Service Ministries at Lighthouse
Hospitality Ministry
Purpose:
The purpose of the Hospitality Ministry is to fulfill the command of God to be kind, good, and hospitable as followers of Jesus Christ.
Scripture:
Galatians 5:13b
Acts 9:36, 39
Ministry:
The Hospitality Ministry will be involved in the following ministries and activities:
Tabitha Ministry - This ministry is involved in preparing meals for church members who are in the hospital (also sending flowers to the patient in the hospital), have had a death in the family, have had an addition to their family, or are moving. They also send cards from the church for birthdays and anniversaries.
Welcome to the Family - As new members come into the church the Welcome to the Family Ministry welcomes them with a card, a cake, important numbers, etc. This ministry will also welcome visiting missionaries and speakers with fruit baskets, gifts, etc.

Benevolence Ministry
Purpose:
The purpose of the Benevolence Ministry of Lighthouse is to fulfill the Scriptural command of being charitable and a help to those in need.

Ministry:
The Benevolence Ministry is involved in the following ministries and activities:
Prison Ministry - As the need arises to meet and minister to those that are incarcerated, the Benevolence Ministry will follow up on any such need. This may be done through personal witness, the supplying of needs of the family of those in prison, the supplying of suitable needs for prisoners, the distribution of Bibles to prisoners, etc.
Financial Help Ministry - When the financial need of an individual comes to the attention of the church, the Benevolence Ministry will follow up on how best to help the individual(s) involved. If it is found that the church can help the needy individuals, the Benevolence Committee will follow up to make sure that this need is handled. A one time need will not need to be voted on by the church, however, an ongoing need of increased financial help will come before the entire church. The needs of a member of Lighthouse will have special priority.
Ministry to the Elderly - The Benevolence Ministry is also involved in visiting and encouraging the elderly. This is done through personal visits to those who are shut-ins as well as through visitations to nursing homes.

Children’s Ministry
Purpose:
The purpose of the Children’s Ministry of Lighthouse is to teach and instruct our children with the message of Jesus Christ and His salvation so that they may be able to live for the Lord all of their lives.

Ministry:
The Children’s Ministry of Lighthouse is involved in the following activities and ministries:
Patch the Pirate and Pee Wee Club - The Patch and Pee Wee Club are ministries conducted each Wednesday evening. This ministry teaches our children practical lessons from the Word of God, gives them the opportunity to learn songs, and teaches them how to have a personal relationship with the Lord. The Patch Club is for children ages 7-12. The Pee Wee Club is for children ages 3-6.
Annual Christmas Program - Each year the children of Lighthouse are involved in an annual Christmas presentation. Each child that is faithful to all practices and rehearsals will be able to participate in this program.
Children’s Activities - At various times of the year there are activities geared for specific age groups. These activities include a number of things with the purpose of allowing our children to have fellowship and fun in the name of Christ.

Tape Ministry
Purpose:
The Tape Ministry of Lighthouse allows those who are not able to be a part of the services at Lighthouse to hear the preaching of the Gospel in their own homes.

Ministry:
The Tape Ministry of Lighthouse tapes each Sunday service. Copies of these tapes are available to our shut-ins, nursery workers, and any others that desire to hear the services which they missed. There is no charge for the members of Lighthouse. This is a love offering based ministry.

Prayer Groups Ministry
Purpose:
The Prayer Groups Ministry of Lighthouse is designed to fulfill the words of Jesus and the prophets that the house of God is a house of prayer.

Ministry:
The Prayer Groups Ministry of Lighthouse gives the members of the church an opportunity to call on their brothers and sisters in Christ for prayer as a need arises. Those in the Prayer Groups are contacted by the Prayer Group leaders when a special need comes to their attention. The individuals in the Prayer Groups will immediately pray for the person in need before contacting anyone else. Members of the church will have the contact numbers for the Prayer Group leaders so that they might call them whenever necessary.

Nursery Ministry
Purpose:
The Nursery Ministry of Lighthouse serves as a ministry to parents so that they might worship the Lord with others during church services.
Scripture:
Proverbs 22:6
Ministry:
The Nursery Ministry consists of members that volunteer to watch our children during the services. A nursery schedule is produced each month so that the volunteer will know when they are to serve. A two-week schedule is also printed in the bulletin for the volunteer’s convenience. A contact number for the nursery director is given to those that are serving. This number is used whenever a worker is not able to fulfill their assigned time of service.

Church Cleaning Ministry
Purpose:
The Church Cleaning Ministry of Lighthouse is designed to keep the house of God neat and suitable for worship services each week.

I Corinthians 10:31
Ministry:
The Cleaning Ministry consists of member that volunteer to weekly clean the facilities at the church. Volunteers are divided into groups of two to three. These groups are then put on a rotating schedule. The group for the upcoming week is printed in each week’s bulletin. There is a list of what needs to be done each week in the cleaning supply room.

Teen Ministry
Purpose:
The Teen Ministry of Lighthouse has the desire to teach and equip our teens to be young people that can live a life of Godly testimony and serve their Savior without shame.

Ministry:
The Teen Ministry is involved in the following ministries and activities:
Teen Sunday School - Each Sunday morning the teens of Lighthouse have a class that is designed exclusively for them. The learning material is subject matter that applies to the needs and pressures of teens today.
Teen Activities - Activities are scheduled regularly for our young people. These outings are for the purpose of giving our teens an opportunity to have a good time in a safe and Godly environment.
Conferences and Retreats - Our teens also have the opportunity to go to teen retreats, conferences and camps at different times.
